This dior set comes from one of the most storied collections of the Galliano-era Dior — Spring 1999 — for which, as noted in the Dior Catwalk book, "Galliano took a trip on the Trans-Siberian railway and drew inspiration from Russian avant-garde as well as the Chinese red army."
The jacket's defining feature is its curving, crossover cut — a silhouette that comes in at the waist and flares beautifully over the top of the hip. The skirt falls to the floor in a sweeping maxi length, its fabric woven with a subtle allover floral jacquard — a tone-on-tone pattern that catches the light with every movement.
