Chloé by Stella McCartney Autumn/Winter 1999 Ivory Lace Bias-Cut Dress with Rose Quartz Buttons

$2,250.00

An exceptional example of Stella McCartney’s romantic yet subversive vision for Chloé, this bias-cut ivory lace dress exemplifies the house’s signature femininity at the turn of the millennium. Constructed from delicate floral Chantilly-style lace, the dress features a draped cowl neckline that falls off one shoulder with an effortless, almost improvisational elegance. The asymmetric handkerchief hem trails to one side, lending the piece a fluid, sculptural quality that moves beautifully with the body.

A column of pale rose-tinted carved disc buttons runs along the side seam — a refined decorative detail that draws the eye and references vintage couture sensibility. The lace is layered throughout in diagonal panels, creating subtle depth and dimension across the silhouette.

As seen in the Chloé A/W 1999 runway presentation and the accompanying campaign, the dress embodies McCartney’s signature approach: antique textile traditions reframed with a cool, modern ease. A rare and wearable archive piece from one of the most celebrated chapters in the house’s history.

Size: 40!  Has some stretch!!

Flat measurements: Bust 15.5”, waist 12.5”, hips 16”.

My measurement for comparison: Bust 36”, Waist 27.5”, Hips 38.5”

Condition: Very good vintage condition! She has a faint yellow stain on the inside of the lining, and it can’t be seen when wearing! I’ll add a photo for reference with comparison of the size!
